All In A Day’s Work
We got our first load of firewood delivered today. This is exciting because it means that we will soon be getting our wood stove installed. So, in anticipation of what I expect to be one of the happiest days of my life, we got a load of wood delivered. How much is in a load? A lot. To be technical, the firewood man told me it was about 5 face cords.
This is what 5 face cords looks like in a big wood heap:
And this is what it looks like stacked neatly beside our garage:
There is one rogue piece of wood that is driving me nuts. It’s all I can do to resist the urge to fix it.
And this is what the rest of it looks like stacked on our front porch because I miscalculated and the pile next to the garage got too tall for me. Oops. (And, yes, I AM that short.)
Did I mention I stacked all of this wood ALL BY MYSELF? And I didn’t hurt myself! I’m a little bit proud that I got it all done in an afternoon. I deserve that wood stove now, darn it.
It’s comforting to know that we are all set on the wood front for a while. And that we’re in good shape to defend ourselves in the event of a vampire invasion – some of those scraps are sharp!

I’m proud of you Jess, you could come to work for me any time stacking firewood at my businiess.
Thanks!
I’m tired and a little achy, but it’s so satisfying to see those wood piles!
