Amsterdam Beer Bike is Awesome, and in Trouble
Amsterdam is known as a bicycle friendly city, however, the Beer Bike is testing the patience of those concerned with public safety. A popular mode of transportation for party goers, the bike is motored by 12 people who sit around a bar and…well… drink beer. It is one of those “you have to see it to believe it” sort of things. So here you go:
Although this flying missle of awesome is supposed to be steered by a sober person, it has still been involved in several recent accidents. Combine that with the noise and nuisance that some believe accompany it, and the Beer Bike is in hot water. It was apparently banned from the city center a year or so back and restricted to certain pre-set routes. These recent problems have people wondering if more restrictions are in order.
