Bad Dog
Earlier this summer Dave and I made the effort to do a little bit of landscaping in our front yard. After the porch fiasco (wherein we rebuilt our front porch in order to keep it from falling off of the house, yay), we were inspired to make the front of the house look pretty. So we went wild at the most awesome native plant nursery ever, Fiddlehead Creek (you MUST check this place out!), and painstakingly amended our soil. Our whole front yard is clay – dirty, nasty, saturated clay – so this was no small feat. The finishing touch was edging the bed with beautiful white birch logs that Dave dragged Paul Bunyan-style (minus the blue ox) from the woods behind our house.
We were so pleased with our efforts. The bee balm, chokeberry, Salomon’s seal, swamp rose, and wintergreen all looked so lovely set off by the pristine white birch.
And then we got a dog. A puppy. A puppy who likes to chew and play and dig and cause as much destruction as she possibly can every time we turn our backs.
And, well, there’s not much else to be said, so I’ll just let the video speak for itself.
Bad dog!

The birch logs looked great, but WJ looks like she is having a good time. She is as cute as a button and you can’t blame her – girls just wanna have fun.
