Reader Submission: Flight Over the Adirondacks

These photos come from a long time reader, friend of the site, and previous content submitter. This was a day long flight around the Adirondacks in a plane that they own. If you are interested in experiencing something similar there are several local services that provide airplane tours (see links below).

The flight started from Malone NY. It was going to be an all day flight, about 10hrs. We left Malone NY and headed south to Lake Placid.

Then we headed down to Keene Valley alone Rt.73 to Rt.9N.

From there we flew over to White Face…

…and then over into the High Peaks. We even flew over Mount Marcy and saw some hiker on the summit, so we tipped the wings to them before heading over to Long Lake.

From there we went down to Sacandaga Lake and then over to Lake George and then down alone the Hudson River by Glens Falls heading south. By the time we got down to Kingston NY it was time to get something to eat. We landed in Kingston to have a $200 hamburger, that’s how much it cost for fuel for the plane so that’s way it’s called a $200 hamburger. From there we climb to 8500ft heading to Syracuse, then to Watertown an then to Malone back home.
