Ah yes – it totally sucks to ski with Paul because he is one of those bastards who just goes downhill – he was advised by a competitive snowboarding friend to do the ski races here so his talent is obvious. But, you can definitely ski with me, I just look at him and say, I’m not skiing off that chairlift come hell or high water, I’ll be in the bar when you’re done. We all have a great time…

I forget why exactly, but I remember promising myself back in college that I would never go skiing with Paul. I think it had to do with reports from our friends that he is one of those guys who just points his skis downhill and tries to break the sound barrier. Is that still true? If so, then I’m only skiing with you when we come out.

We lived! And it was SO much fun. I hadn’t been on downhill skis in 20 years and I really thought I was in for a frustrating day. But we had a blast. And I only fell once or twice – attempting things I had no business trying after a 20 year hiatus. Of course. Time to save my pennies for a Whiteface season pass next year. I’m hooked!

Good luck! And yes, I think Gore was always that much money. When you become experts once again, you have to come out and ski some real big boys…smile…
