Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel to Climb Kilimanjaro for Charity

If you had told me when I started this website over a year ago that I would be writing about Justin Timberlake someday, I would have laughed at ya. But, here I am, trying to think about how to include a wardrobe malfunction joke in this post… so I guess the last laugh is on me.

Justin Timberlake, along with Jessica Biel and other entertainers, will join Ethiopian-born pop singer Kenna in an attempt on Africa’s Mount Kilimanjaro. The group will be climbing to raise money and awareness for the worldwide water crisis.

“This is a basic human necessity that needs to be addressed now,” Biel said in a statement, adding that she’s proud to climb Kilimanjaro with the celebrity team “to help any way I can in order to raise awareness toward the life-threatening clean water crisis happening not only in Africa but around the world.”

Kilimanjaro, while a non-technical trek, is still a serious mountain with very real dangers. At 19,340 feet in height, altitude sickness is just one of the dangers climbers have to worry about, and it was a reaction to altitude sickness medications that thwarted Kenna’s previous summit attempt.

Timberlake described his preparations to GQ.

“I’ve been training four times a week to get my VO2 (oxygen consumption) levels up to expand my lungs,” Timberlake told GQ. “We’ll climb for a week straight, carrying 30 pounds on our backs. It’s going to be intense.”

  1. That’s hot! (Minus the Jessica Biel part)

  2. It looks as if Justin Timberlake is trying to demonstrate that his and Jessica Biel’s love is strong. I do feel he looked happier with his ex – Cameron Diaz however.

Lucky Justin Timberlake having top seats at last Sunday’s NBA finals. I wanted tickets but it was $400 for even the worst seats.
