Adirondack Loon Chicks are Starting to Hatch
Dr. Nina Schoch, from the Adirondack Loon Conservation Program, recently emailed out the Summer Edition of their newsletter – The Adirondack Tremolo.
It’s been another buggy and rainy early summer in the Adirondacks, but that doesn’t seem to bother the loons. Many are on their nests, incubating eggs, and suffering through hordes of black flies around their heads. Now, as the end of June approaches, we are starting to see some chicks hatch out too.

Along with information about the ongoing loon census – and how you can participate – this issue also includes information on the Adopt-A-Loon program.
