Adirondack International Mountainfest to take place Jan. 15-17 in Keene Valley, NY
The 14th annual Adirondack International Mountainfest takes place January 15-17, 2010. This year’s fest will include instructional clinics from local and guest guides, as well as slide shows by blind adventurer Erik Weihenmayer (Friday night) and world-class alpinist Steve House (Saturday Night).

Eric Weihenmayer on Everest
Weihenmayer is the first blind person to summit Mt. Everest, and he later went on to complete the Seven Summits. Steve House is considered by some to be the world’s premier alpinist and his recent book “Beyond the Mountain” examines the logistics and hardships of modern alpine climbing.
Most of the classes, including those being led by House, are already booked full. But there are some spots left throughout the weekend. You can get more information here: http://mountaineer.com/?page_id=130
The slideshows and spaghetti dinner are pay at the door, and there will be demo gear to test out on Saturday and Sunday.
