Northville Placid Website Redesign
Shortly after my first Northville Placid thru-hike (in 2002), I posted a trip report on my personal website so that family and friends could read my journal and see some photos. At the time there wasn’t a lot to be found online about the trail, and so hikers who were planning similar adventures found the page and emailed me looking for additional information. To help those hikers, I posted Frequently Asked Questions and other general information about the trail on the site. Over the years, as my adventures have taken me back to the Northville Placid Trail, and as the number of requests for additional information about the trail has grown, I have tried to keep the site up-to-date.
However, the original site was not very easy to modify or update. So while creating Towns and Trails I became motivated to also redesign my Northville Placid site. Over this long 4th of July weekend I finally found some time to finish that effort.
You can visit my new Northville Placid site at: http://www.northvilleplacid.com
The layout mirrors that of Towns and Trails and my hope is that it is easier to navigate and find specific information. There are 4 trip reports available on the new site – 2 thru-hikes, and 2 section hike/road trips. I also created a new section listing the gear that we have used on the trail, which is one of the most frequent questions I get via e-mail.
There is still some minor work to do on it (such as porting over my original 2002 trip report), but otherwise it should be fully operational. If you check it out, please let me know if you run into any problems or have any feedback.
