Our First Mountain Christmas

Hope everyone had a fun Christmas morning! Ours was a blast… once I woke up, that is. One thing certainly hasn’t changed up here, getting me out of bed before 9am is still a challenge.

After enjoying a quick morning coffee we jumped right into unwrapping our gifts. Even Foster got in on the action, digging into one of his presents.

There was a clear theme this year in the gifts Jess got for me – “Let’s keep Dave warm this winter.” And boy did I need some of the things she picked out. My closet was seriously lacking in cold weather clothes, and what I did have was usually geared toward ‘Boston winters’.

For her, I picked up a pair of Women’s MSR Snowshoes, which we promptly had to take outside to try (of course).

While out there we were struck by how much traffic our backyard has been getting since the last snowfall.

And we were happy to see that our little gang of Turkeys visited us as well.

As fun as tromping around the yard was, we got the itch to take the snowshoes out for a real test, so off we went on a mini-Christmas Morning adventure!
