2009 REI Anniversary Sale, May 1-10
REI’s “biggest sale of the year” started today and will go until next Sunday, May 10. All boats and bikes are 15% off and racks are 20% off – and there are even better deals to be had on camping equipment. Members also receive an additional 20% off.
This sale couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ve been itching to finally buy my kayak so I can enjoy the warm weather and our beautiful lake. And we discovered only today that Dave’s bike was stolen – not a nice realization on an otherwise pleasant Friday afternoon. So it looks like we have an expensive weekend ahead of us!
After a lot of research (Kayak or canoe? Touring or recreation?) I’ve finally decided on the
Necky Manitou Sport Kayak. It’s small, relatively lightweight, and from what I hear, perfect for cruising around the local waterways. I’m not looking for a world-beater, just something that’s comfortable, stable, and tracks well. Check back soon for a review!
