Hello, and welcome to Towns and Trails! A website about adventure, the outdoors, and our life in the Adirondack Park.
Laugh with us (not at us) as we adjust to Our Adirondack Life.
We love adventure. Here you will find news, trip reports, and anything related to outdoor fun.
Gear, gadgets, technology... we are unapologetic geeks who think outfitting for an adventure is half the fun!
In 2009 we sold the home we loved, packed up everything we owned (including a 75 gallon tank full of fish!), and said goodbye to our life in Boston to chase a wild dream... move to the Adirondacks!
Towns and Trails is about living life as an adventure, and our attempt to do so in the Adirondack High Peaks. Whether you're a hiker, climber, biker, camper, or road tripper... We hope we inspire you to build adventure into your daily life
The Adirondack Park in Upsate NY is the largest park in the contiguous United States. Its 6.1 million acres are a unique blend of public and private lands that encompass an area larger than that of Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Zion, Glacier, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Parks combined.

Yep it sure got hot today. Nothing like living up in the good old Adirondack and having a day like this. This is when you wish winter was back and it’s COLD, lol. But it doesn’t happen to much though just once in awhile it gets this hot.
I totally wilt in this heat. Doesn’t seem to bother Dave though! I hear the thunderstorms brewing now…
I think storms are so great, but the little one sure didn’t like it last night when it came through. But today is a lot better than yesterday by far
