Ken Burns' "The National Parks: America's Best Idea" to air on PBS

Starting Sunday, September 27 at 8:00pm ET/PT, PBS will begin airing the the six-part documentary The National Parks: America’s Best Idea. Nearly a decade in the making, the documentary features stunning footage from some of America’s most pristine wilderness, including Acadia, Yosemite, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon.

The six two-hour episodes are scheduled to air as follows:

1. The Scripture of Nature 1851-1890
2. The Last Refuge 1890-1915
3. The Empire of Grandeur 1915-1919
4. Going Home 1920-1933
5. Great Nature 1933-1945
6. The Morning of Creation 1946-1980

In case you miss it, full episodes will be available on the PBS website beginning on September 28th.
