Road Trip Update: Niagara Falls

We are on the tail end of our road trip now.

Last few days have been great. Especially Wednesday, road trip day 6, when we drove to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park and hiked out to Pyramid Point, which overlooks Lake Michigan from a 150 foot bluff. After exploring the edge a little, we found a safe and clear path to the shoreline and decided to head down to check it out. Glad we did, as this ended up being the experience of the trip. We were finally able to take our first swim in the Lake and it felt like we had it all to ourselves – We were the only ones down there for as far as we could see.

After a night and day in Traverse City, we headed up towards Petoskey and dipped into the State Park for a bit of beach time.

The next two days we spent in Harbor Springs, bouncing between the State Park and downtown Petoskey.

It was then time to bid our farewells to Michigan and start our 18 hour adventure drive back home. This time we decided to break it up with a stop in Niagara Falls, to soak in all of the natural beauty and neon tourist cheesiness.

We’ll be home soon and will get a complete trip report with photos up after we catch up with ‘real life’ again. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!
